FAQ

What is the mission of the Young Conservatives Coalition?

The Young Conservatives Coalition is a DC-based, young professional conservative leadership and networking organization. The YCC is dedicated to initiating and fostering valuable working relationships in the conservative movement and serving as an umbrella organization for all leading political center-right young adult and college groups in the United States.

Who comprises the membership of YCC?

The YCC has united a diverse group of energetic young professional conservatives, ages 18-40, who represent leading conservative organizations on and off Capitol Hill. People join to network and connect with other young professionals to build relationships, open lines of communication, and strategize to build the next generation of the conservative movement.

What programs does the YCC implement?

The Young Conservatives Coalition hosts many popular events in DC throughout the year to fulfill its mission, including:

1.) Young Conservatives Leadership Summit (Summer)
2.) Young Professional Networking Sessions (Seasonal)
3.) Young Conservative Leadership “Buckley Awards” (CPAC)
4.) Reaganpalooza (CPAC)
5.) Christmukkahkwanzaavus (Dec)
6.) YCC “Draft Nights” (Seasonal)

-YCC also hosts many educational events including symposiums, debates, conservative movie premieres, etc.

Why was the YCC created?

Soon after the 2008 presidential election, an array of young professional conservatives met in our nation’s capitol and felt more was needed to be done to ensure the sustainability of the intellectual and political achievements of the conservative movement for a new generation. The idea was simple - connect young professional conservatives to build valuable working relationships and serve as an umbrella organization for all leading political center-right groups in an effort to open lines of communication. Through these relationships and conservative education programs, a new generation of conservatives would have the foundation and network ready to successfully lead America in the 21st century.

What makes the YCC unique and distinct from all other young conservative organizations?

The YCC serves primarily as a young professional conservative leadership and networking organization, with membership from around the country but primarily in the Washington, DC area. While other young conservative groups focus on political activity, our mission is to connect young professional conservatives to build valuable working relationships and promote conservative education programs that promote America’s “First Principles.” We are not affiliated with any candidate or political party. Additionally, the YCC is not another “Young Republican” group with state chapters around the country, but many of our members could be members of such groups.
