3rd Annual YCC Buckley Awards

The Young Conservatives Coalition is pleased to announce the opening of nominations for the 3rd Annual Young Conservative Leadership Buckley Awards!  YCC will be awarding five young professional conservatives who’ve made a significant contribution to the conservative movement at large or in their home state.  These awards will recognize the unique contributions young conservatives play in the movement and will highlight their successes, while also honoring William F. Buckley Jr. – a conservative movement leader/icon who founded National Review and wrote God, Man & Yale all before the age of 30.

An award ceremony will be held at the Capitol Hill Club in Washington, DC on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 from 5:30-7:30pm.  Stay tuned for more information as we get closer to the event.

Nominee Requirements:

1. Must be between the ages of 18-40
2. Must be nominated (nominees can nominate themselves)
3. Made a significant contribution to the conservative movement at large or in their home state by (one of the following):

a. Leading and/or organizing a significant grassroots and/or media initiative
b. Contributing meaningfully to an influential election (on staff or volunteer)
c. Utilizing new techniques and/or technologies to advance the conservative cause
d. Displayed courage under fire

Washington, Apr 30 – From high school to grad school, students across the country are preparing to get their diplomas and move into the next phase of their lives. This is always a time of hope and excitement, but there is no denying the obstacles young people face in today’s economy. Many will have to move home to save money. Many will struggle to find work. And those who can strike out on their own often won’t earn what they would have 5 years ago.

The Young Conservatives Coalition will host the second annual Young Conservative Leadership Buckley Award ceremony, recognizing five conservative rising stars who’ve made significant contributions within the conservative movement over the past year. All winners are younger than 40. The ceremony, slated for Thursday, Sept, 29, is in honor of the late William F. Buckley Jr., the conservative movement leader and icon who founded National Review, wrote 40 books, including God and Man at Yale, and published a regular column syndicated to 300 newspapers. He educated and inspired thousands of conservatives, especially young ones, through his articles, books and TV appearances…
