Our nation has been assailed in recent years, mostly in major metropolitan areas, by annoying busybodies bent on saving us all from ourselves. People sat idly by while their local governments told private businesses that they couldn’t allow smoking on their own property. Then came the trans-fat Gestapo, claiming that the public cost of unhealthy eating gave them the right to plan a restaurant’s menu in committee. But that was all before Obamacare. With the federal government paying your health costs directly, the nanny-state will finally be unleashed. The Senate is already considering a tax increase on soda and other sugary drinks – justified, of course, by the cost of socialized health care site. They will not stop at soda. Soon more aspects of your life and diet will be subject to scrutiny and control by DC bureaucrats that are convinced they know what’s best for you.
